Sunrise Adams

Sunrise Adams (born September 14, 1982) is an American porn actress born in Como-Pickton Texas. "I grew up in Como-Pickton Pickton, Texas, population 90, with no phone, one TV channel and no one to play with for miles." Adams describes herself as a "curious and wild" tomboy, recalling that in the 6th grade, she tattooed "horny" on her knuckles using a sewing needle and ink from a pen. She would also draw dicks on her school desk and would get in trouble with teachers. Adams first engaged in sexual intercourse at the age of 14 with a 17 year old boy. In high school, Adams was athletic, playing basketball, soccer, and football. She is reported to be the only girl to ever play on both the Junior and Senior varsity football teams for the Como-Pickton school district where she played as the kicker, and was also the girlfriend of the quarterback, which made the local newspapers. At age 16, Adams enrolled at a nearby community college to complete her last two years of high school.

At the age of 18, Adams was employed at a Sonic Drive-In. Her aunt Diane Thomas aka Sunset Thomas, came to visit, arriving in a tractor and trailer. Adams idolized her aunt who was a well-known porn actress. Sunset was at first hesitant to see her niece follow in her footsteps, but once she saw that she could not dissuade her, she decided to help her career. "I told my aunt I wanted out of my small rural town, and I saw adult entertainment as a way out, like she had. She knew how dangerous the adult world can be, so she made the choice to help me as much as she could", Adams later recalled in an interview. Her aunt suggested a stage name complementary to her own and for her to dye her hair blonde since "blondes always made more money". Adams left Texas for Los Angeles and began her career as a pornographic actress. On January 8, 2001, she appeared with Ed Powers in More Dirty Debutantes 186. She later referred to the experience of making that film as "nothing I want to remember" and found Powers repulsive.

As with many of the young women who enter the pornographic industry, Adams was encouraged to engage in sex acts that were new to her. Her first sexual encounter with another woman was with performer Cherry Rain, in Cockless 3 (2001), which she found she enjoyed much to her shock since she had come from a homophobic environment. Adams also performed in anal sex scenes in her very early films, including in her first film. In Vince Voyeur's Initiations 8 (2001), Adams received anal sex that was so rough that afterward, her anus required stitches and Adams required recuperation time to heal. After that, Adams adamantly refused to engage in anal sex on film.

Adams became popular with fans, and signed a two year contract with Vivid Entertainment in August, 2002, officially becoming a "Vivid Girl." Adams had refused an earlier offer from Vivid to become one of their exclusive actresses, choosing to remain a free agent. Vivid's founder and president Steve Hirsch pursued her, eventually agreeing to meet with her at a gas station while she was en-route to close escrow on her first house. Hirsch spoke with Adams, who agreed to join Vivid on the spot; they signed the contract on the hood of Adams' car. The terms of the contract required Adams to appear in 8 movies per year, for the company.

Adams has performed many times with Faith Adams. Sunrise Adams refers to Faith Adams as her "almost namesake," and claims to have been "married" to Faith for two years although both say it was more a "stripper marriage" and they both were in relationships with men at the time. On August 2, 2004, Adams appeared with Savanna Samson on Fox News's "The O'Reilly Factor", to promote their book, How to Have a XXX Sex Life.

She retired in 2008 at the age of only 26. Adams says she could have continued her career, but her Vivid contract ran out and she would have to work twice as hard to make up that lost income. Adams said she was offered huge amounts of money over the years to do a threesome with her and her aunt, Sunset Thomas, where the two wouldn't have any sexual contact but would still be in the scene. Still, Adams and her aunt turned it down. "Yes I am a whore, but I do have have a lot more morals than you think", Adams later joked.

On September 17, 2002, Adams underwent breast enlargement surgery. Representatives of the Vivid label objected to this, preferring her natural breasts thinking she would lose some of her "farmer's daughter" appeal. But Adams was never happy with what she felt were small breasts and always planned on going bigger.

In 2002, Vivid hired Adams to star in Debbie Does Dallas: The Revenge, with plans for her to star in future films in the series. Vivid representatives considered Adams to be appropriate for the role, because of her blonde hair, her experience with football, and her Texas heritage. Adams found the role difficult, due to her long-standing, deep dislike of cheerleaders, feeling they were all fake.
