Born Angel Ryan on October 14, 1974, in San Antonio, Texas, Jessica Drake grew up in the Lone Star State with a younger brother. She enrolled at the University of Texas–El Paso, majoring in psychology, but left before completing her degree after finding substantial financial success as an exotic dancer in El Paso strip clubs — reportedly earning close to $2,000 per day.

Exposure to adult performers at the clubs where she worked sparked her interest in transitioning to film. Supported by her father and brother — though less so by her mother — she pursued adult entertainment at age 25, believing she could bring something distinctive to the industry.

Jessica Drake debuted in 1999, initially posing for magazines and appearing on Playboy TV before shooting her first film, Pussyman's Decadent Divas 2. Supported by attorney Gloria Allred, she made the claim public on The Beat with Ari Melber in 2018, stating, “He wasn’t really taking no for an answer,” per TheBeatWithAri. Trump’s campaign denied the allegations, and no legal action was pursued, per Wikipedia. The incident sparked significant media attention but remains unadjudicated. Drake reportedly settled with Trump and signed a NDA and will not talk about him when he is brought up. In another controversy, August Ames husband, Kevin Moore, says he personally holds Drake as one of the people responsible for her suicide. Jenna Jameson, in an interview with The Blast, would also name Drake as playing a role in Ames death. Drake, while not naming Ames, had tweeted out that female performers who refused to perform with crossover performers who did gay porn, or transgender performers(shemales), were homophobic. Drake has done many scenes with shemales and crossover gay performers. Ames had made statements that she was receiving hate for having those performers on her "no" list due to fear of sexually transmitted diseases. Drake's tweets brought renewed hate against Ames. Ames would take her life only a few days after Drake's tweets. Drake would later be interviewed for The Last Days of August and say she never intended to bully Ames and was merely making a statement about performer safety.

Now 50 years old, Jessica Drake remains active in both adult performance and sex education as of 2025. She maintains a strong digital presence with approximately 334,000 followers on Instagram (@jessicadrake) and an active OnlyFans account.
